Strengthening finance in a high performance culture.

Director Finance

Mission

Our client, an international premium cycling components manufacturer with a strong engineering culture, was looking to appoint a new Director Finance for its European entity. The role required a finance leader who could act as a strategic partner to the business, bring operational control, and navigate a fast-paced, performance-driven environment - while also fitting seamlessly into a collaborative, low-ego culture.

Approach
We conducted a focused search for finance leaders with both controlling and accounting expertise, experience in manufacturing environments, and the mindset to thrive in a high-autonomy culture. Beyond hard skills, the search emphasized character: hands-on leadership, adaptability, and the ability to partner across functions. We also prioritized strong communication in an international setup.

Result
We placed a Director Finance with a strong track record in mid-sized industrial companies and a proven ability to lead finance teams in dynamic environments. The candidate integrated quickly, introduced more agile reporting tools, and helped improve transparency in operational decision-making.

Impact
The appointment strengthened financial leadership within the European entity and created a more forward-looking, insight-driven finance function. The new Director also enhanced cross-functional alignment between finance, operations, and leadership - contributing to greater operational clarity and business focus.
